Window Installation Cost Estimator

Estimate the total cost of window installation including materials and labor based on window type, dimensions, quantity, and regional labor rates.

Formula

Material Cost/Window = Base Cost ($/sq ft) × Window Area (sq ft) × Frame Multiplier × Glazing Multiplier
where Window Area = (Width ÷ 12) × (Height ÷ 12) in sq ft

Labor Cost/Window = Base Hours × Story Multiplier × Labor Rate ($/hr)
Base Hours adjusted for removal (+0.75 hr) and trim (+0.5 hr)

Supplies/Window = max($25, min($60, Area × $4))

Disposal = $15/window (if replacing existing windows)

Subtotal = (Material + Labor + Supplies + Disposal) × Quantity

Grand Total = Subtotal × 1.15 (contractor overhead & profit)

Cost Range = Grand Total × [0.85, 1.15]
